Released Time Bible Education programs were first started by Dr. William Wirt, a School Superintendent in Gary, Indiana in 1914. He created the program as a way for public school children to receive Bible education during the school day.

Hi, I would like to help you start a Released Time Christian Education Program in your area. I will assist you from start to completion. I would like to speak at your church and provide a short presentation, on what Released Time is all about. We will provide a information and sign-up table, as the Lord brings his servants together such as prayer warriors, teachers, assistants, bus drivers and college homework helpers.
We will meet with Principals and provide the needed materials for the presentation.
During this process, we will need to pray and fast, the Lord will do the rest in making the Released Time Program happen.
This precious ministry is bringing the Bible to public schools, one school at a time. Release Time takes place off campus during the school day, one hour a week. The students can be third, fourth, fifth or sixth graders depending on what schools would like. The Lord will go before us in this mission field in public schools to give our children the Bible.
He has shown me this firsthand by opening five new released time programs and 2 Christian clubs in middle schools within the last 10 months.
